Hoa is a licensed therapist and an associate professor in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at Valdosta State University. After receiving her doctorate from Virginia Tech, she joined the VSU faculty in 2017 and teaches master’s students who are training to become relational, systemic therapists. Her research focuses on dialogic pedagogy and cultural humility. She publishes research in family therapy education and has co-edited a book on Global Perspectives on Dialogue in the Classroom: Cultivating Inclusive, Intersectional, and Authentic Conversations. She hopes to foster connections between young professionals in her community. Valdosta is home to her, her husband, and their cat and corgi pup.
