Mallory is a native of Mississippi where she grew up the oldest of four (4) brothers and (3) sisters. As a firstborn, Mallory found herself as a natural leader helping her siblings and then leading others as opportunities arose. During her undergraduate career she was color guard captain, homecoming queen, community theatre leads, and ASL club president. She graduated in 2006 from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Deaf Education, where she met her husband, Justin. After they married in 2007, they moved to Georgia where Justin pursued his Master of Divinity at Mercer University. That’s right, she’s a pastor’s wife. In August of 2007, Mallory started her career in higher education as the Director of Disability Services and Student Life at Lanier Technical College. In 2010, she was recognized as The Advisor of the Year and became a State Advisor for the Georgia Student Government Association, where she served until 2018. Mallory and Justin have two daughters, Hannah (age 8) and Brooklyn (age 5). They moved to Dalton, GA in October of 2018. She started her position at Dalton State College as the Assistant Director for Career & Professional Development at that time. As an active Daltonian, Mallory sits on the board of the Junior Achievement of Northwest Georgia and The Georgia Association of Colleges and Employers (GACE), chairs the University System of Georgia’s Career Services Committee, chairs the GACE Annual Conference and Career Fair, and attends Chamber of Commerce events, not to mention the many opportunities she serves in the church. Mallory lives in Dalton, works in Dalton, and plays in Dalton, and though Mississippi might be where she was raised, Dalton is home.
