Joseph Goldstein represents the Ward 7 City Council Member from Marietta, Georgia. He is 28 years old and lives in Marietta, Georgia. He has been in Marietta his entire life. He has a B.B.A. in Real Estate from the University of Georgia and a J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law. He was elected in November of 2017 to the City Council for a four-year term commencing January 1, 2018, with his term ending December 31, 2021. He was reelected for a second term commencing January 1, 2022, and his term will end December 31, 2025. He currently serves as Chair of Marietta’s Finance/Investments Committee, Vice-Chair of the city’s Personnel/Insurance Committee and serves as a member of its Judicial/Legislative Committee. He has worked in commercial real estate management and leasing business. He is a licensed Georgia attorney. He is a Georgia Association of Public Pension Trustees Certified Public Pension Trustee. He was the previous chair of sports and social committee for Marietta Kiwanis, and volunteers on various charitable projects. He serves on the Georgia Municipal Association’s Municipal Government Policy Committee. He is a volunteer with the Marietta Tree Keepers, a group that plants various trees, flowers, and other flora with the City of Marietta. In the past, he interned with Georgia Senator David Perdue as a Senate Judiciary Committee intern. He is a member of the National League of Cities Information, Technology and Communications Federal Advocacy Committee and will be Vice-Chair of that committee in 2022. He is a member of the Cobb Municipal Association, serving as secretary for two years and will be its President in 2022.
