A native Georgian, Sarah Carnes is a proud member of Georgia Power’s Business Recruitment team. In this role, Sarah supports prospective Georgia companies in their site selection process. Sarah first joined the company’s Community & Economic Development organization in 2016 as a member of the Research team. In this role, she provided business intelligence to prospective Georgia companies and received national recognition for her work. In 2018, she became one of the youngest Certified Economic Research Professionals (CERP) in the country. Sarah’s research experience adds value to the Business Recruitment team because of her understanding of what companies need to thrive in their new location. Sarah graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Economics and Management from the University of Georgia. She then went on to earn her master’s in City and Regional Planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology. An improv theatre enthusiast, Sarah also enjoys planning her next trip and learning new things. Sarah and her husband, Brody, split their time between Atlanta and Athens – two of their favorite Georgia cities.
