
Dr. Jason Edwards is a faculty member at the J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development at the University of Georgia. He specializes in designing, facilitating, and evaluating youth leadership programs across Georgia. Jason founded an after-school sports mentoring program in partnership with the Clarke County School District, which aims to prepare middle school students for success in their academic and athletic pursuits. He serves as Vice President of the Board at Family Counseling Services of Athens, mentors a 5th-grade student each week through the Clarke County Mentor Program, serves as Co-Chair for the Local School Governance Team at Hilsman Middle School, and is a volunteer lector at his church, the UGA Catholic Center. Dr. Edwards received the UGA President’s Fulfilling the Dream, a university-wide award that recognizes individuals in the UGA and Athens-Clarke County communities who have worked to make Martin Luther King, Jr.’s dream of equality and justice a reality.
