
Kasmira Smith serves as the Community Engagement Coordinator for the City of Valdosta, leveraging her background in communications and journalism to foster connections within the community. A South Georgia native, she joined the team in February 2024, driven by a commitment to her hometown. Kasmira holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with a Minor in Journalism from Valdosta State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude, where she honed her skills through various roles at the university’s publications and internships with local organizations. Before her current position, she was an award-winning reporter with CNHI – South Georgia Media Group, contributing to The Valdosta Daily Times and The Moultrie Observer. Passionate about crafting engaging narratives across various platforms, Kasmira prioritizes strong relationships and upholds the City of Valdosta’s mission. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, exploring local bookstores, and immersing herself in music.
