A fifth-generation resident of Whitfield County, Reed graduated from Dalton State College in 2017 before working as Executive Director of the Whitfield-Murray Historical Society. He is a member of the City of Dalton’s Historic Preservation Commission, and has renovated four historic homes, including Dalton’s oldest mill house in the Crown Mill Village neighborhood. He serves as Chairman of Keep Dalton-Whitfield Beautiful, Vice-chairman of the Georgia Alliance of Preservation Commissions, and currently works as Executive Director of the Dalton-Whitfield Community Development Corporation, a non-profit development corporation founded by community leaders in 2002.
